Fully compatible with automotive ABS and EEE recycling process
After extensive testing on Proplast in accordance with the recyclability assessment protocol for automotive resins and EEE, ELIX ABS HH 3110 resin has been officially recognized as fully compatible with the automotive ABS and EEE recycling process.
ELIX Polymers’ high-performance ABS resin is modified with poly(styrene-co-maleimide) and is known to be highly resistant to heat. This makes it ideal for demanding uses, for example, automotive exterior parts, such as taillight housings and spoilers, or vehicle interior parts, such as center console linings, and door and dashboard parts. In addition, the material is used in different electrical uses, such as plugs and switches.

Based on the good results obtained when carrying out the tests, the material has been included as a control material to carry out the RecyClass recyclability assessment protocol for ABS plastic components. It is a crucial step in establishing safe and proven parameters for assessing the recyclability of ABS materials. This will help stakeholders and the automotive and EEA industry to make informed decisions about material selection and compatibility with recycling.
These results support RecyClass’s ongoing commitment to deliver rigorous protocols to achieve the recycling targets set by European legislation, helping to accelerate the transition to the use of circular plastics in the automotive and EEA sectors.
